Half Term Baking with Betty Crocker : Betty’s Rocky Road Brownies – with a Halloween Twist 👻

As the second part of our #FunToMake Half Term baking challenge with Betty Crocker, we decided to bake Betty’s Rocky Road Brownies, and give them a little Halloween twist 👻

Just like with the Little Fish Cupcakes, this was a really simple project for the kids to get stuck into themselves with only supervision from me.

We used Betty Crocker’s Chocolate Fudge Brownie Mix, which only required an egg, a little vegetable oil and some water to make.

The kids greased a rectangular baking tin…….

………emptied the Brownie Mix into the mixing bowl…….

……..added the egg, then the oil and water……

………and gave it a good stir……..

……..then youngest son’s favourite part was smashing some digestive biscuits to add to the mixture…….(I think he enjoyed that bit a bit too much!)……..………although, he did enjoy getting to lick the bowl afterwards too!

We spooned the mixture into the tin, then popped it in the oven for 20 minutes.

We removed it from the oven, then decorated the top of the Brownie with Ghost-shaped marshmallows and Halloween-coloured M&M’s

Before popping it back in the oven for a further 5 minutes.

Once the marshmallows had browned, it was time to take it out of the oven and let it cool

Before cutting it up into chunks then trying to hold the kids off long enough to get a picture before they all disappeared! This is one bake that definitely won’t hang around long 😋

Disclosure : we were sent the Brownie Mix to try out, however, all thoughts and opinions are our own.
