Family Day's Out

Gulliver’s Land, Milton Keynes

One of our family’s favourite places to visit is Gulliver’s Land, Milton Keynes. If asked what they would like to do, it’s usually at the top of the 9 year olds list, but is always a fun day out for the whole family.

We tend to pack a picnic and make an entire day of it, often being there from opening to closing. So much so that on our last visit they were literally kicking us out!

By booking online more than two days in advance, we can usually save money on entry prices, and we often take advantage of promotional offers, like Dad’s Go Free on Father’s Day.

Gulliver’s Land is a very family-friendly theme park that is aimed at families with younger children, however, there are many rides that also make it appealing to older children, just like the rollercoaster above.

Our children’s ages range from 5 to 16 and no-one is ever bored.

Parking is brilliant if you get there early, with a large, free Car Park, however, there is also plentiful paid parking spaces nearby.

Access is also brilliant with large, wide gates and pathways the whole way round the park, and ramp access everywhere so pushchairs, including wider doubles, and wheelchairs are no problem whatsoever.

The staff and characters are very friendly and always happy to pose for photos, as well as be on hand to answer any queries.

Each day at Gulliver’s Land starts and closes with a short performance from the characters, where they sing and dance, and encourage the children to join in. It’s always great fun and something we enjoy watching.

The ride’s themselves vary greatly throughout the park, you’re sure to find something that appeals to everyone. From the Swinging Chairs, above……

……to our family’s all-time favourite, the Log Flume.

Queue’s for most rides are usually fairly quick-moving, however, there are some that we would advise getting to early, or else be prepared for a bit of a wait. The three water rides being the main ones, as they do tend to be popular. But unlike bigger theme parks, you don’t spend the whole day queuing, we usually manage to get on most, if not all rides, during a typical day’s visit, and bearing in mind that we usually go at quite peak times, I think this is brilliant. Nobody wants to spend the whole day queuing, you want to ride rides, and at Gulliver’s Land you get to do just that.

Overall, Gulliver’s Land is a great, value for money, family day out, that never gets boring. New rides are regularly added and shows are updated for the seasons. As a large family, it’s a place that we feel welcome and suits all of our family’s needs, and we would thoroughly recommend to those looking for fun family day out.
